Multi-Media Training Center / Internship

The Western New York Minority Media Professionals Inc has two parts to the Student Internship Program.

 

Community Service

Through the media we help spread the message of other community groups and organizations. We basically teach the interns how to empower themselves through the media.

 

Student Broadcasting and Training Program

We currently produce two television programs that air on WKBW-TV ABC CH7 "OFFICIAL HEAT" and "UPFRONT TV."

An applicant for this internship must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  2. High school students must be between the ages of 14-19 years old.
  3. Minimum cumulative G.P.A of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  4. A high school student does not have to major in communications to apply.
  5. Students have to complete a minimum of 50 hours. If you are seeking additional hours, please contact a member of the organization.
  6. The employer can arrange weekly internship hours.
  7. Minimum of one letter of recommendation.
  8. College students need to have a minimum of 6 hours in communications or multimedia related course to apply.
  9. A written statement of goals and why you would like to participate in our internship program.
  10. Failure to comply with these requirements can result in a disqualification of your application.


This non-paid internship will be selected once the applicant meets all or part of the requirements listed above. WNYMMP has the sole discretion to alter, change or modify any requirements related to this internship. This internship is open to any student regardless of race, age gender or sexual orientation.
